Ingredients
1 package puff pastry sheets, thawed
2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and thinly sliced
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp melted butter (or 1 egg, beaten, for an egg wash)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400˚F (200˚C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut each sheet into 4 equal squares.
In a bowl, toss the apple slices with brown sugar and cinnamon until evenly coated.
Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each puff pastry square, and top with a sprinkle of grated cheddar cheese.
Fold the corners of the puff pastry over the filling and pinch to seal.
Brush the bundles with melted butter or an egg wash for a golden finish.
Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
Allow the bundles to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!
